Ma Gao Temple

Pagode da Barra
Ma Gao Temple
A Temple founded 500 years ago is dedicated to the Goddess of Sea - Ma Gao. A legend tells that the first Portuguese arrival when asking for the name of he place was misunderstood by the locals for the name of the temple/ The city was hence named "Macao" after the name of the temple "Macao".

That's what the card says:)) The person who sent it also wrote that the fishermen often go to this temple as the Goddess Ma Gao is said to protect them and bless with a good catch.

The stamps on this card are simply gorgeous.
