Vintage card from Tallinn

I have many vintage cards from Tallinn, they are so beautiful! This one dates from 1986.

Tallinn

Old Market Square, Olde Hansa Medieval Restaurant and the Town Hall, Tallinn.

Tallinn

Two pictures to the left show Tallinn Town Hall pharmacy (Estonian: Raeapteek). It is one of the oldest continuously running pharmacies in Europe, having always been in business in the same exact house since the early 15th century. It is also the oldest commercial enterprise and the oldest medical establishment in Tallinn.

The picture to the right show Saiakang Passage, the shortest and one of the oldest streets in Tallinn.

Tallinn

St Mary's Cathedral, Tallinn (Estonian: Toomkirik, full name: Tallinna Neitsi Maarja Piiskoplik Toomkirik, German: Ritter- und Domkirche, English: The Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin in Tallinn, also known as Dome Church) is a church located on Toompea Hill in Tallinn, Estonia. Originally established by Danes on 13th century, it is the oldest church in Tallinn and mainland Estonia. It is also the only building in Toompea which survived a 17th century fire. Originally a Roman Catholic cathedral, it became Lutheran in 1561 and now belongs to the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. (c)wiki

Tallinn

Tallinn

Tallinn

1. Tallinn Town Hall
2. The Virgin's Tower
Neitsitorn (Virgin's tower), one of Tallinn's defensive towers, was given its name as a kind of Medieval joke: It used to house a prison for prostitutes. Like most of the lookouts on Tallinn's medieval wall, Virgins' Tower is the subject of many legends, the most famous involving the ghost of a bibulous monk who to this day frequents the Tower's wine cellars and takes a great interest in the activity of the waitresses working in the cafe... 3. Viru Gate
The towers are actually only the foregates of what was a much more complex gate system built in the 14th century. It included a large, square tower that stood father back along the street, close to where the city wall can be seen. Most of the gate was pulled down in the 1880s to make room for traffic, but these two towers remained and have since become a symbol of the town. (c)http://www.tourism.tallinn.ee

Olde Hansa, The Medieval Restaurant of Tallinn

"Olde Hansa was established to honour the Hanseatic League and our forefathers and foremothers. We have dedicated ourselves to this task in order to take you on a journey to Tallinn's golden age.

Olde Hansa is the home of a rich merchant. His house is built in a manner to increase the enjoyment of the happy moments in the life of a Hanseatic merchant. Not just for eating delicious food and savoring good drink, but also for the enjoyment of good music and the wamrth of hearth and home during the Hanseatic times."

Olde Hansa has not only its own cards, but also a stamp!
This is also one of my favourite cards from Tallinn!

One of the pictures shows St Catherine's Passage, and the other pictures show Kumu art museum.

Here we see Olde Hansa the medieval restaurant, Vanaturu Kael (Old Market's Neck) street and the Town Hall. This is one of my favourite cards from Tallinn.

Tallinn

Some views from Tallinn, Estonia:

1. St Catherine's Passage
What makes the passage particularly interesting is that it's home to the St. Catherine's Guild, a collection of craft workshops where artists use traditional methods to create and sell glassware, hats, quilts, ceramics, jewellery, hand-painted silk and other wares. The workshops are housed in the small, 15th- to 17th-century rooms on the south side of the lane, and are set up in an open-studio fashion so visitors can watch the artists at work, be it glass-blowing, weaving or pottery making.
