Alnwick Castle, situated on the banks of the river Aln was once considered the strongest fortress in England. Parts of the castle date back to the 11th Century.
Hi - did you know that some of the scenes in the earliest Harry Potter movies were shot in the grounds of Alnwick Castle?? The most famous is probably when Harry first rides on his broom around Hogwarts :)
I live quite near to this place, and I'm also a big HP fan, so it was a wonderful place to visit :)
